PRESS: Rostec wants fine forgiveness for late Taman plant launch

MOSCOW, Oct 12 (PRIME) -- Technopromexport controlled by technological corporation Rostec plans to offer electric power consumers to sign agreements on full or partial forgiveness of fines for a late launch of the Udarnaya thermal power plant on the Taman Peninsula, business daily Kommersant reported on Tuesday citing sources.

The government earlier approved postponement of the launch of the plant for two years to the end of 2023. Rostec explained the delay by the need to reengineer the plant and replace the equipment. The company had troubles with connection of the plant to a gas pipeline and decided to install one 110-megawatt turbine instead of two 25-megawatt ones.

The company wants to introduce a fine-free period from April 1, 2021 until December 31, 2023 and to postpone the launch for the end of 2023.

Rostec confirmed the information.
